Steve Johnson. Born 1957. Nicknamed Sputnik by my paternal grandfather, as I was born the same month that the satellite was launched. Hopefully my sudden appearance did not cause as much panic to the American psyche as the satellite.
Sputnik was the first of many nicknames, including Max, Johnny, Won (Wonderful, Wondy, The One), Mel, Snaggletooth, and Wacker. For a few years even people who knew me well insisted on calling me Dave.
My left brain had a genetic head start, but my right brain fights the noble fight, occasionally surfacing and experiencing success.
A varied life of ups and downs, like most people, but lucky to be who and where I am. Currently living in Mayo, Maryland, US.
